What will students learn?
Game Design

- Learn to use Actors, Costumes and Sounds to create a scene
- Program, animate and customize characters
- Create detailed multi-level game worlds
- Make decisions with code
- Speed up animations; make objects shrink, grow, or rotate
- Create an obstacle game and a multi-level platformer game

Robotics
- Work with motion and tilt sensors
- Build a humanoid robot and program its basic functions
- Build an autonomous robotic public transport
- Compare the manual and automatic way of controlling robots
- Learn about the specifics of the walking robots, build and program one of them

Drone Coding
- Learn the fundamentals of becoming a drone pilot
- Analyze the movement of the propellers
- Program the drone to move through an obstacle course
- Learn the concepts behind the drone’s grabber and cannon attachments
- Photograph objects around the classroom to create a story

Robotics

Every day kids will make a new robot with a certain functionality. In building these robots, kids will learn new knowledge, skills, teamwork and creativity. As they build the robot, they will LEARN THE LINK BETWEEN COMPUTERS AND ROBOTS using basic visual programming. They will also be introduced to sensors, motors and various other functionalities involved in Robotics.
All this will be done using LEGO® ROBOTS.

Game design

Children will learn to build their own video game worlds using Lego-like code blocks. They will learn aspects of project management, planning, implementation and design as they build their own games from start to finish.

By the end of the week, children will be able to showcase their very own original games and play them with friends and family.

drone programming

With Drones having various uses from security to camerawork to delivery, Drones have become an essential part of our future. We will be introducing children to the world of drones using interactive lessons, videos, puzzles, and DIY projects, to ensure they understand the fundamental concepts to program and pilot their drone using the power of the code.

Kids will have fun learning to program their drone to take off, land, move in all directions, do acrobatic figures and even control the accessories.

Requirements
The camp requires a laptop computer, Chromebook, or Netbook  and a Chrome (29+), Firefox (30+), Safari (7+), or Internet Explorer (10+) browser. No downloads required. Courses are not supported on tablets.

Dates:
June 30 - July 4

July 14 - 18

app development

With the arrival of smartphones, Apps have taken over the world. But, while we all use Apps everyday, how many of us really know how to program them? In our App Development section of the Summer Camp, children will learn to move from technology consumers to technology creators by building Apps. They will use visual programming languages to build fully functional apps for smartphones and tablets.
